I’m on day 2 of playing the ‘get rid of what’s in the fridge before you leave on vacation’ game. I probably should be ordering pizza and indulging on a variety of chocolate desserts; there was no point for us to start our new year’s healthy eating commitments when we knew that we would be going on vacation so soon. And despite that ‘eat what you want before you can’t’ mentality that everyone gets, we simply just don’t stock frozen pizzas and sugary cereal’s in our house on a regular basis, so the ingredients we needed to get rid of and I had to work with, well, they’re quite healthy.
It’s Monday. We should all be out of our food coma’s by now and back in our routine’s. It’s never fun coming back from a 3 or 4-day weekend, but before we know it Christmas will be here and we’ll have more time off. In the meantime, we definitely have a solid 2-3 weeks of eating well and exercising that we can get in. I believe in balance. I worked out every day last week (even on Thanksgiving) so I could enjoy both of my Turkey Day meals I went to. And I even lost weight! (I’m not questioning the Thanksgiving gods on that one). Either way, no matter how your turkey day went, every day is a new day to start over!
Tuesday! We’re making it through the week, folks, and I am still on my “fall foods” kick. My better half and I keep going back and forth with being sick. I started with a sore throat a week ago and that moved into a cold/cough. I thought I’d kicked it but it came back around this weekend. And just as I was getting better yesterday, he caught everything I had and is now miserable. BUT despite it all, we both have kept our appetite’s. To be honest, if I don’t have an appetite then you know that I am really down for the count. A little cold and congestion generally won’t stop me from eating.
